Emma Rae, “Em”, Zehner, 89, of Evansville went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 29, 2021.
She was married 59 years to her adoring, late husband, William E. “Bill” Zehner. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Jones Landrum, of Memphis, TN and her cherished grandchildren, Addie Grace and McLaurin.
Em was preceded in death by her mother and father, Anna and Willie Simpson, as well as her brothers, Jay, Willie, and Fred Simpson, and also her sisters, Sissy Rittenberry and Murline Johnson.
Em was a graduate of Bosse High School. She chose to live in Evansville all her life because family and friends were important to visit frequently. Em appreciated being a devoted wife and mother and considered it a privilege to be a homemaker. She was always making her home special, arranging flowers from her garden to share with others, and sending a special note to someone in need. Modeling pretty clothes was fun for Em and she enjoyed being in many fashion shows. Em and Bill sang duets beautifully together all their lives.
She loved Jesus Christ and showed a loving spirit to anyone she knew. Em was a long-time member of Christian Fellowship Church where she was a greeter for many years. She enjoyed entertaining friends for a special birthday lunch at Kennel Club or Oak Meadows Country Club.
