Eva L. (Thompson) Williams

Eva L. (Thompson) Williams, age 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at her home.

Eva was born July 31, 1926, in Winslow, IN, to Alfred D. and Gladys (Hurst) Thompson. She was in the graduating class of 1944 at Winslow High School. In 1966 and 1973, Eva graduated from Indiana University with Honors. After earning her Master’s Degree in Education, she taught elementary schools in Sellersburg, Greensburg, and Noblesville for 15 years. Eva faithfully attended Christian Fellowship Church for over 17 years and was an active member of the Upper Room Class. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano for her church, and she especially loved her family.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Robert E. Williams; daughter, Janice Marie Karsenty (Gilles) of Indianapolis, IN; son, Robert “Mark” Williams of Greensburg, IN; brother, Alfred Thompson of Augusta, GA (Vera); grandchildren, Jahmon Pendleton, Lauren Jade Williams (Erik Olsen), Hayley Amber Williams (Matthew Lee), and Olivia Marie Williams; great grandchildren, Nathan Pendleton and Mia Pendleton; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Gladys Thompson; infant twin sisters, Janet and Jane Thompson; sister, Beverly Ellerbruck; infant brother, Richard Thompson; and brothers, Robert, Ed, Maurice, and Gary Thompson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor David Niednagel officiating.
