Floyd Bartlett Jr.

Floyd Bartlett Jr., age 78, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on June 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Floyd was born on February 14, 1948, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Floyd and Ann (Cook) Bartlett. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours in Vietnam. For his bravery and sacrifice, Floyd was awarded two Purple Hearts.

Floyd loved his work as a crane operator and was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 181 for over 52 years. He had a passion for cranes, classic cars, especially his midnight blue 1966 Pontiac GTO, and deer hunting.

Above all, Floyd’s family meant everything to him. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in Tae kwon do, football, and all of their activities. He especially loved his high school sweetheart, Pamela. The story goes that Floyd was working on his car when he first saw her, bumped his head, and the rest was history. They shared 62 wonderful years together.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (McCoy) Bartlett; daughters, Tamara Bartlett Ambs and Melissa Jones; grandchildren, Garrett Bartlett, Wyatt Ambs, Kolton Brown, Savannah Jones, Olivia Brown, and Ashton Brown; great-grandchildren, Elias and Zara Bartlett.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 220 High St, Chrisney, Indiana, with Jordan Duncan officiating. Kapperman Post 44 will render the military honors. There will be a simple gathering after the service at the Boonville VFW Post 3418, 123 Vfw Blvd, Boonville, IN 47601.
