Frances Ellen (Wood) O’Brien, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born on March 23, 1942, and left this world peacefully on September 10, 2022, surrounded by her family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas L. O’Brien, who predeceased her on October 2, 2019, and who she never stopped mourning although her battle with dementia had stolen many of her memories.
Frances enjoyed her many years of dedication and service to JCPenney as the supervisor of the catalog department. After her “retirement” from JCPenney, Frances then served as a secretary to the ministering office of Crossroads Christian Church, which was also an occupation that gave her much joy and satisfaction.
Frances had a wonderful sense of humor, a laugh and smile that could light up any room, and was deeply devoted to her family – constantly surrounded by children and grandchildren. She never seemed to let anything bring her down, no matter the obstacle.
Frances is survived by her sister, Sue Hart (Robert) of Florida, as well as her beloved children; Tommy O’Brien (Debbie), Debbie Terry (Rick), Patty Perry (Mike), Scotty O’Brien (Missy), and Missy Crane (Roger), in addition to fourteen (14) grandchildren and sixteen (16) great-grandchildren.
The family of Frances is especially indebted to the years of love and companionship provided by Nancy Bradley, her caregiver/friend.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Denny Stevenson officiating.
