Frank Lynn Shofner, Jr.

Frank Lynn Shofner, Jr., age 77, of Darmstadt, IN, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Frank was born January 1, 1947, in Evansville, IN, to Frank L. Shofner, Sr. and Beulah (Evans) Shofner. He graduated from North High School in 1965 and was a faithful member of Oakhill Baptist Church. Frank retired from Clark Deisel in Henderson, KY, after working as a Deisel Mechanic for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and watching Stock Car Racing and NASCAR.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sylvia (Ordway) Shofner; son, Arthur Shofner; daughter, Michelle Trabant; sister, Lynda Walls; and grandchildren, MeKiah Sandage-Shofner, Daelynn Sandage-Shofner, Jaicyona Austin (Kryschan), Graeson Shofner, Amelia Trabant, Philip Trabant, and Faith Trabant; and great grandchildren, Rhea and Eris.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beulah Shofner; and brother, Barney Wayne Durbin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2024, at Oakhill Baptist Church, 4615 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Alan Scott officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Evansville, IN.

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Oakhill Baptist Church.
