Fredric "Fred" Denton Obituary

Pastor Fredric “Fred” Denton, age 68, of Evansville, IN, went home to be with the Lord at 10:45 p.m. PST on Friday, August 27, 2021.

Fred was born October 12, 1952, in Oakland City, IN, to Raymond and Mildred “Sally” (Keeton) Denton. He graduated from Central High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Christian Heritage College in San Diego, CA and Master’s Degree in Theology from Newburgh Theological Seminary in Newburgh, IN. Fred served 22 years in the United States Navy and retired as Master Chief in 1994. Fred was an avid reader, and never met a stranger nor passed up an opportunity to share the Gospel. He left a lasting impression on so many people of how to love Jesus and how to treat people, no matter who they were. Fred served as Pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in Princeton, IN, for 18 years, and he was active in Child Evangelism Fellowship Ministry (CEF) for many years. Fred loved the Lord, his family, and Gospel music.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Melody (Golden) Denton; daughter, Rebecca Denton (Austin Stuber) of Coronado, CA; son, Fredric Denton, Jr. (Jennifer) of Bluffton, SC; sisters, Margaret Stewart of Patoka, IN, and Jane Kinman of Bastrop, TX; brother, Ray Denton of San Diego, CA; and grandchildren, Jordan Stuber, Mataya Stuber, Gracen Denton, and Pavin Denton.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sally Denton; and sister, Merle Stewart.
