Freida Bolton, 98, of Evansville, IN, passed away on December 1, 2024. She was born on October 10, 1926, in Lawrenceville, IN, to Gordon and Metta (Havill) Childress. Freida graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1944 and later went on to pursue a career as a nurse, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others.
Freida was an avid reader, often found with her nose in a good book, and she cherished the opportunity to learn new things through literature. A lifelong exercise enthusiast, she began each day with a walk through the streets of Evansville.
A devoted Christian, Freida was a long-time member of Crossroads Christian Church, where she was known for her faith and dedication to her community. She found joy in traveling, having explored many places both in the United States and abroad with Road Scholar, enriching her life with new experiences.
Freida is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Bolton; and grandchildren, Emily Brown and Todd Bolton; and her six grandchildren (Tristan, Penelope, Fiona, Olive, Haylie and Finnegan).
Freida is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Bolton; son Thomas Bolton; and six siblings Mildred, Forrest, Wilbur, Rayburn, Erma, and Don.
