Gary D. Allen

Gary D. Allen, age 69, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Deaconess Gateway.

Gary was born February 5, 1950, in Evansville, IN, to Dallas L. and Verlie Opal (Austin) Allen. He graduated from Central High School in 1968. Gary loved his country and was a Veteran in Unites States Air Force and the United States Army Reserves before retiring in 2006 after serving for 23 years. He was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44. Gary worked for 27 years at PPG as a line operator and supervisor. He enjoyed NASCAR, traveling, and his dogs, Zoe and Maddie.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Libby (Sheeks) Allen; daughter, Katie Allen Brown; grandchildren, Jessica Yeagley Graman (Nick) and Riley X. Brown; and sister, Verba Clark (Gary).

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Wayne Allen.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery where full military rites will be rendered by the American Legion Kapperman Post 44.  

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, October 18, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
