Gary W. Galloway, Sr.

Gary W. Galloway, Sr., age 80, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025, at home.

Gary was born March 16, 1944, in Evansville, IN, to Edward and Dean (York) Galloway. He retired from Keller Crescent after 42 years of service as a Carton Stripper and was a member of the Local 571, Graphics Communication International Union. Gary met Carolyn through a friend at 15 years old and knew she was the girl he wanted to marry. Six months later, they were married June 6, 1964. He loved to take his kids swimming when they were younger, he loved to go fishing at the river with his kids and grandkids, and he especially enjoyed visiting Cave City, KY. Gary hummed all the time, had an infectious laugh, and was quite the jokester. He enjoyed feeding the 7 or 8 squirrels that would visit his yard, watching Westerns, and smoking his cigar. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carolyn (Payton) Galloway; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Millay (Jamie); sons, Max Galloway (Lisa) and Jason Galloway (Kirsten); grandchildren, Travis Fuchs (Maryann), Randi Galloway, Gary Galloway, III (Makaila), Dylan Galloway, Zachary Galloway, Jordan Galloway (Corey), Dustin Galloway (Autumn), Kassidy Galloway, Russell Galloway, Gage Galloway, Kaydence Galloway, and Karmynn Galloway; and 10 great grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dean Galloway; son, Gary W. Galloway, Jr.; sisters, Delores Pullman, Gladys McKendree, Jackie Winstead, and Martha Lester; and brothers, Max Galloway and Edward Galloway.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, January 24, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
