Gayle Wayne Osborne, age 79, of Newburgh, IN, passed away April 18, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Gayle was born December 22, 1945, in Lexington, KY, to William Osborne and Odella (Dunn) Edwards. After attending Scott County High School, he joined the United States Army Reserves. Gayle was employed with Brandeis Machinery, Midwest Contracting, and Warrick County METS. A lifelong fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, Gayle also loved following the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of First Christian Church of Newburgh.
Gayle never met a stranger. He enjoyed making connections everywhere he went. Maintaining those connections was even more important to him, especially through phone calls and nightly “Good night! Love you!” texts to family. He always had an encouraging word to give and considered it an honor to pray for and with others when he had the chance.
Gayle is survived by his loving wife of almost 12 years, Connie (Ranes) Osborne; daughters, Lisa Fletcher (Jon), Joy Rosson (Bill), Sherri Kasnick (Adrian), Ashli Hale (Brandon); sons, Clark Osborne and Brian Ranes (Katrina); grandchildren, Meredith, Camille, and Andrew Holland, Courtney Taylor (Tim), Sarina, Drake and Dustin (Erikka) Kasnick, Zachary and Katlyn Ranes, and Brennan and Karissa Hale; great-grandchildren, An’Dreya, Kenadee, Canton, Bryleigh, and Maverick; nieces, Leigh Ann, Mary, and Mattie; mother of his children, Marilyn Osborne; mother-in-law, Mary Kittle; sisters-in-law, Brenda Bandy (Carl) and Patty Peters (Charlie); brother-in-law, Gary (Sherrie) Kittle; and beloved family dog, Tucker.
Gayle is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, RD Edwards; siblings, Rodney Osborne and Debra Edwards; and sister-in-law, Chris Hosselton.
The family would like to specially thank Erika and Barb with Compassus Hospice for their utmost love and support to Gayle’s care.
