Gene Hooker, 50, of Evansville, died at 3 p.m. Monday while at work.
Mr. Hooker was a sergeant in the Array Special Forces during the Vietnam War, and was a paratrooper. He was a member of VFW and the American Legion.
Surviving are a son, Chad L. Hooker of Princeton; a daughter, Michelle T. Powell of Fort Branch; brothers, Larry Hooker of Evansville and Don Hooker of Bessemer, Ala.; a sister, Ai- leen Beck of Evansville; grandchildren, Cory, Derek and Blake Powell; his mother, Irma E. Hooker of Evansville; a close friend, Donna Herr ell of Evansville; a niece, Stephanye Haller; and a nephew, Brad Hooker, both of Evansville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Boone Funeral Home — 5330 Washington Ave., with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana, where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
