Gerard "Jerry" Jacobs

Gerard Anthony “Jerry” Jacobs, age 67, of Lexington, KY, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Jerry was born April 26, 1959, to Othmar Jacobs and Anna Jacqueline (Dorsey) Wilson. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School in Newburgh, Indiana. After graduating from Castle High School in 1978, Jerry earned his degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University Evansville, where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.

In 1985, Jerry moved to Lexington, where he enjoyed meeting many new friends. He especially loved spending time with and spoiling his beloved boxers, “Otto”, “Daisy”, and “Diesel”. After retiring from Locknet, Jerry and Diesel toured the country together in his RV, creating many wonderful memories along the way.

Jerry is survived by his sisters, Janet (David) Robertson, LeeAnn Jacobs, and Gloria Viviano; brother, Phillip (Liz) Jacobs; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael, Joseph and Christopher Jacobs; and sister, Geralyn Baker.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
