Harry Ray Campbell, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home in Red Hill, PA. Born on March 23, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Olive Irene Campbell. He was the beloved husband of Beverly Ann Campbell.
Along with his wife, Harry is survived by his children, Michelle Campbell and her wife, Jodi Jordon of Hillsborough, NJ, Angela MacLeod and her husband, Joel of Telford, PA, and Brent Campbell and his girlfriend, Kelly Bauder of Bethlehem, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Olivia, Meghan, Nicole, Brent, Jr., Christina, Hunter, Hannah, Campbell, and Charlize; his sister-in-law, Sandra Mahrenholz; and his cousins, Tonya Rae Sartore and Jane Heath.
He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Eugene Campbell; his mother, Olive; and his father Harry, in Evansville, Indiana. He was also predeceased by his cousin, Brian Small.
Harry graduated from Evansville’s Francis Joseph Reitz High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1960 in Harbor Defense Unit, Balboa, and on the USS Fulton (AS-11) in Groton, CT. He joined AT&T in 1960 and married Beverly in 1962. Harry and Beverly lived in many different states, settling in Bridgewater, NJ until he retired from AT&T in 1994 and moved to Wind Gap, PA in 1999.
Harry achieved the Eagle Scout rank from the Boy Scouts of America and spent many more years furthering his service by providing training of adult scout leaders. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, researching genealogy and camping with his family in their travel trailer. In his retirement years, he and Beverly also enjoyed camping with the EZ-Goers PA chapter of the Coachmen Owners Association.
All are invited to a viewing from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA, with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
A further viewing will be held from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. CST, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with a service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Harry will be laid to rest at Park Lawn Cemetery, 1526 S. Green River Road, Evansville, IN.
