Helen E (Peasley) Smith

Helen E. Smith, 103, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Newburgh Healthcare. She was born to the late Floyd J. and Hattie (Hill) Peasley on December 3, 1914 in Moscow, ID.

Helen lived most of her life in Yakima, WA and worked in the fruit canning industry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Duke, who passed away in 1975 and her two sisters, Dorothy and Marge.

She is survived by her daughter, Esther Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Pam Baker (Steven) of Evansville, Jaci Brinkman of Evansville, John Fitzgerald of Melbourne, FL, and Scott Fitzgerald of Evansville; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandsons.

Her family extends their thanks to the staff of Newburgh Healthcare for their service to Helen the past 5 years.

Graveside Services and Entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Heritage Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville with Chaplain Tom Hubacheck officiating.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Heritage Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery.
