Helen Kay (Solomon) Witter, age 80 of Lombard, Illinois passed away suddenly on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Kay was born November 9, 1944, in Big Mound Township, Wayne County to parents Leo and Opal Solomon. She graduated from Wayne City High School in 1962 and married her classmate, Charles Witter, in February 1963.
Kay graduated Salutatorian of her high school class and was active in drama club and yearbook. After graduation, Kay moved to Chicago and worked as a business secretary until 1963 and then focused on raising her family in Villa Park and Lombard, Illinois.
Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Charles Witter, her son Charles (Vivian) and her daughters Melodie (Ed), Joanne and Christina. Kay adored her seven grandchildren Christopher (Jamie), Chloe, Ashley (Evan), Alyssa (Goran), Eric (Katie), Dylan (Kiara), Delaney, Maddy and Zoey, along with eight great grandchildren Liam, Avery, Bristol, Aleca, Declan, Wilder, Bailey, Phoebe. Her surviving siblings include Larry Solomon, Dee Brown and Donna Woolever.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Opal Solomon, brothers Bob, Gene, Leon, Verdell and her sister Phyllis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Steven Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery Wayne City, Wayne County, Illinois following the services.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel prior to the following Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
