Herbert F. Puchner

Herbert F. Puchner, age 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Heart to Heart Hospice.

Herb was born August 6, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to Conrad Alois and Anna (Algner) Puchner-Plo. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1954 and served in the US Navy. His father was a chemist and taught him about chemistry, radios, and how electricity works which set the foundation for his career as a technician in electronic equipment repair with TRW, Lockheed Martin, and later with the Indianapolis Airport where he ended up meeting his wife, Betty. Herb loved being with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music, and tinkering with electronic devices.

Herb is survived by his daughters, Candy Osburn (Kelly), Michelle Sohn (Dennis Young), and Antoinette L.; sons, Herbert Marc Puchner (Mary) and Raymond Schaefer (Karla); grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Chris, Courtney, Kyle, and Jayden; and great grandchildren, Katie Shea and Christopher Otto.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Puchner; sister, Charlotte; and brother, Conrad John.

Private Burial will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
