Horst zum Eschenboff, 65, of Newburgh, died at 8:31 a.m. today at Woodland Convalescent Center.
Mr. Eschenhoff was born in Hannover Germany, and graduated in 1957 from Hannover Engineering School as a mechanical and welding engineer.
He spent one year as an exchange student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and retired in 1993 as vice president from Hoprich Co,, in Evansville.
Mr. Eschenhoff, a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, was a Kentucky Colonel and a Bona Fide Cowboy of Big Wyoming.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Ingelore; a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and J.D. Guinn of Zionsville, Ind.; his mother, Kaethe zum Eschenhoff of Bueckeburg, Germany; a sister-in-law and brother-in- law, Eva Maria and Karl Ackerman of Bad Eilsen, Germany.
Services will be at 10 a m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home — East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave. Evansville, IN, with the Rev. Joseph Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Germany.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
The family said friends, if they wish, may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association.
