Howard Robinson Obituary

Howard H. Robinson Sr., age 91, of, Evansville, passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Saturday,  February 29, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital, Evansville.

Howard was born March 28, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, to John J and O. Cigale (Fleming) Robinson. He attended Roosevelt High School of St. Louis, joined the Navy and served 1 tour of duty during WWII. Howard was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, an avid bowler, member of a Clabber club, and Senior member of the Evansville Civil Air Patrol. He worked for the Railroad in the mail car after WWII for 10 years and then worked as a field engineer with Eastman Kodak for 25 years.   

Howard is survived by his daughter, Judith Cigale Austin; sons, Dr. Howard H. Robinson Jr., Kerry, Kim and Kyle Robinson; sister Helen Creel; grandchildren, Nicholas Austin, and Kelly, Henry P., Ann, Chloe, Katherine and Henry H. Robinson.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 36 years, Marian (Behrendt) Robinson in March 2001; loving companion, Geraldine Davis in May 2017 and son Mark Robinson in January 2020.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN, 47715. There will be a time of Family Sharing at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Vanderburgh Humane Society at 400 Millner Industrial Dr, Evansville, IN 47710 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 120 Vandiver Dr, Madison, TN 37115.
