Hubert Edwin “Duke” Rasure, age 81, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Parkview Care Center.
Duke was born August 8, 1939, in Evansville, IN, to Edwin Hubert and Mildred Olive (Carnahan) Rasure. He graduated from Central High School in 1958 and graduated from New York Institute of Photography Correspondence School as a Photo Finishing Engineer. Duke was a member of Bluegrass United Methodist Church and was a Veteran in the United States Army where he served in Germany. He enjoyed photography and served as a photographer in the Army and also did wedding photography on the side. Duke served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Scott Township Fire Department and was a member of the board for many years. He worked for Schmitt Photo Service for 26 years as the Photo Lab Manager, and went on to retire from Alcoa after working in Plant Protection for over 15 years. Duke loved woodworking, camping, and fishing trips to Lilley’s Landing in Branson, MO.
Duke is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith “Judi” (Walter) Rasure; daughters, Marta Edmondson (David) and Kelley Rexing; son, James Rasure (Juli); grandchildren, Jamie Duncan (Ryan), Kristin Winternheimer (Phil), Hillary Edmondson, Brian Rexing (Cory), Keith Rexing (Caitlin), Amy Deutsch (Nick), Laura Newmaster (Jacob), A.J. Rasure (Katherine), Jacob Rasure (Shantel), Kira Rasure, Jordan Rasure, and Josh Rasure; great grandchildren, Davis, Dylan, Asher, Luke, Kylie, Bryce, Mason, Levi, Avery, Norah, Brooks, Melody, and Zachary; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Duke is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Besse Jean Dillbeck; brothers, Burtis O’Neal Dillbeck and James Leroy Dillbeck; and son-in-law, Dan Rexing.
Private Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Ben Lovell officiating.
