JD Merriman

JD Merriman, age 85, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

JD was born August 7, 1939, in Evansville, IN, to Otis and Carita (Wallace) Merriman. He attended Central High School. JD was of the Pentecostal faith. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching wrestling. JD worked at Whirlpool for 44 years. He was a union steward and retired as a foamer operator. He was also a member of Local 808 IUE CWA.

JD is survived by his wife of 30 years, Faith Ann Merriman; daughter, Lisa Schwindel (John); sons, Greg Merriman (Michele) and Matthew Merriman (Peggy); grandchildren, Brandi, Craig, Jacob, Sara, Caleb, Hannah, Seth, Rebecca, and 7 great-grandchildren.

JD is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gloria Hare and Debbie Hartsfield; and brothers, Jack and Sonny Merriman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Johanna Sumner Damme officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
