Jacob Matthew Gwaltney

Jacob Matthew Gwaltney, age 21, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at home.

Jacob was born December 28, 1999, in Evansville, IN, to Guy Gwaltney and Melissa (Bell) Gwaltney – Shehorn. He graduated from Castle High School in 2018 and was attending USI. Jake enjoyed weight lifting, traveling, skateboarding, and spending time with his family & two dogs.

Jacob is survived by his loving mother, Melissa and step-father, Tim Shehorn; sister; Andrea Taylor (Greg); brother, Josh Gwaltney (Sydney) and step-brother, Brian Shehorn; niece, Jackie Gwaltney; grandmother, Andrea Bell; aunts and uncles, Amy and Stan Wilhite, Marty Gwaltney, Linda and Roger Walker, and Kenny and Tammy Gwaltney; cousins, Logan and Landon Wilhite; and lifelong best friend, Miles Burkins.

Jacob is preceded in death by his father, Guy Gwaltney; grandparents, Mary Gwaltney, Lloyd Gwaltney, and Lyle Bell.

Services and burial will be private with Pastor Eric Cummings officiating.
