James Leland Cantwell

James Leland Cantwell, age 41, of Evansville, IN, passed away Wednesday August 23, 2023, at home.

James was born June 16, 1982, in Elmhurst, IL, to James “Jim” Lee Cantwell and Denise (Chartrand) Smith. He graduated from Harrison High School in 2000. James worked as a Delivery Driver for Jimmy Johns for over 10 years. He collected Funko Pops, and he loved playing games, especially Destiny with his best friend, Jeff Valerie.

James is survived by his mother, Denise Smith (Keenan); sister, Kassy Smith; and brother, Thomas Cantwell (Danielle); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

James is preceded in death by his father, Jim Cantwell, who passed away August 15, 2023; grandparents, William and Eugenia “Jeannie” Cantwell; and Charles and Gloria Chartrand; aunts, Jeanie Chartrand and Mary Louise Curran; and uncles, Gregory Lynn Chartrand and Bill Cantwell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will be Private.

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until service times, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
