James “Jim” S. Garnett, 74, passed away July 10, 2020, at his home in Evansville, IN.
James was born January 4, 1946, in Evansville to the late Curtis and Mary Garnett. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1964 and was a veteran of the US Army. James proudly served as a firefighter with the Evansville Fire Department from 1976 until his retirement in 2005.
James is survived by his daughters, Britt Garnett and Kara (Nick) Ragsdale; four grandchildren, Samuel, Marley, Ellie and Noah; sisters, Patricia Adamian and Deborah Garnett, Linda Crawford; and brother, Curtis Garnett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Garnett; brother, Bud Garnett; sisters, Louise Beouy, Juanita Gish, Thelma Hofmann, Judith Hancock, and Doris Bush; and grandchild, Peyton Ragsdale.
Friends are welcome to visit Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN beginning at 10:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2020, and the memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joshua St. Clair officiating. A live stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the memorial service time via a link on the Boone Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery where the Evansville Fire Department will render honors.
