James “Jimmy B” Floyd, age 63, passed away on September 7, 2025. A beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Jimmy will forever be remembered for his easygoing spirit and the laughter he brought to those around him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jim and Linda Floyd.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (Rich), his niece, Lindsey (Jimmy), and his great-niece, Jalynn, who will cherish his memory always. Also left to mourn his passing is his loyal four-legged best friend, Brandy, along with many dear friends.
Jimmy spent over 30 years working as a truck driver, a career he truly enjoyed. During those years, he formed lasting friendships with co-workers and customers he met along the way. He took great pride in his work, and was known for his reliability.
Jimmy enjoyed watching NASCAR and had a natural talent for working with his hands. He could often be found under the hood of a car or tinkering away on projects in his garage. That garage wasn’t just a workspace—it was his retreat. Many will remember sitting with him there, sharing stories, laughter, and a cold Budweiser, which he always had ready to offer.
One of Jimmy’s greatest joys was his yearly trips to Florida, where he loved spending time at the beach with his family. Those trips became cherished traditions filled with sunshine, saltwater, fishing, laughter, and memories that will continue to bring comfort to his loved ones. The beach was a special place for Jimmy—a spot where he could relax, enjoy life, and be surrounded by the people he held closest to his heart.
Jimmy’s memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to share in his company. His love for life, his humor, and his down-to-earth nature will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to honor Jimmy by raising a toast to him wherever fond memories come to mind.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date. The family will provide details when arrangements are made and would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.
Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, is handling the arrangements and is honored to serve the family of James “Jimmy B” Floyd.
