Janet D. (Walker) Carmickle, age 67, of Evansville, IN, was called home at 4:29 p.m. on July 11, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
Janet was born February 27, 1955, in Evansville, IN, to Albert and Doris Walker and graduated from Reitz High School. She held many titles and went by many names: Mom, Mamaw, Sis, Aunt Deb, to name a few. She lived her life to the fullest and was never without a project. She loved to build and kept a tape measure in her purse and a hammer in her truck just in case. She loved her family with every ounce of her being and her dogs Rocky and Marilyn. She couldn't resist a cold ski or a visit from a grandbaby. She was always the first to show up and the last to go home. She always had a tupperware of leftovers with your name on it. If she was able, she was willing and if she wasn't, she was still trying. She was the very definition of "true grit." She loved flowers in the spring, tomatoes in the summer, hayrides in the fall and the holidays of winter. Of all the things she built over her lifetime, the bond between family was her greatest project. She built homes, tree houses, tiny houses, play houses, porches, decks, patios, furniture and the most cherished of all; SHE BUILT A LEGACY.
Janet is survived by her children, Michelle Reynolds, Casey Reynolds (Dawn), Damian Reynolds, and Lakei Flores (Collin); grandchildren, Cheyenne, Stormy, Zaxton, and Brooke; sister, Janice Bowman (Eddie); and brother, Ronnie Walker (Sherry); great grandchildren, Lilly, Ruby, Lawson, Laikyn, Levi, and Anastasia; and several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Doris Walker; sister, Janie Mitchell; and infant brother, Albert Walker.
