Jason Edward Born

Jason Edward Born, 52, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on September 3, 2025, as a result of a car accident on the Lloyd Expressway.

Born in Hammond, Indiana, on March 2, 1973, at St. Margaretʼs Hospital, Jason graduated from Munster High School, where he excelled in chess club and on the swim team. He attended the University of Evansville on a swimming scholarship and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Jason worked for over 10 years as a respected physical therapist assistant.

He cherished time with his family and had a deep love for chess and swimming.

Jason will be remembered for his dedication to loved ones, his relentless pursuit of truth and purpose, his commitment to health and exercise, and his contagious sense of humor.

Jason is preceded in death by his godmother, Aunt Julie Klapkowski; cousins Ryan Myszak, Henry Owen, Matt and Kely Klapkowski, and Crystal Fleming; and grandparents Wiliam and Gina Born, and Alfred and Lottie Klapkowski.

Jason is survived by his parents, Wiliam and Marianne Born; his son, Jamie Born; and his brothers, Joseph (Karen) Born and Robert (Stacey) DeBok. He also leaves behind his niece and nephew, Charlotte and Liam Born, as well as cousins Alexa, Alyssa, Kyle, and Justin Klapkowski; Katie (Randy) Looney; Rocky Fleming Jr; and Scott and Carla Hoffman.

Jason is also survived by several aunts and uncles, Godfather Edward (Connie) Klapkowski, Joyce (Rocky) Fleming, Grace (Ken) Norris, Anthony (Kim) Klapkowski, John Klapkowski, and Alfred (Lisa) Klapkowski, and many other extended family members whom he loved dearly.

Celebration of his Life will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Jason Davis officiating.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until service time, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
