Jeffrey Gaul Obituary

Jeffrey William Gaul, 72, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31 at Heart to Heart Hospice Center with his family by his side.

Jeff was born October 14, 1952, in Evansville, to L. Edward Gaul, MD and Cathryn Y. (Young) Gaul. He graduated from Harrison High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University Evansville (now University of Southern Indiana), and later earned his Associate in Communication degree from USI. Jeff was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a Paraprofessional with Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for the 13 years, working with special needs students at Bosse High School. Jeff enjoyed woodworking, music, antiques, walking, biking, and spending time on his family’s farm in Western Kentucky. He especially loved his family vacations in Northern Michigan, watching the Colts, IU, and the Pacers, and spending time with his friends. Jeff loved brewing and sharing his tasty beer with family and friends. He had an infectious laugh that was larger than life, and it will be sorely missed.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Virginia “Jenny” Lee (Koressel) Gaul; daughter, Jill Ann Blair (Chris); brother, Charles “Joe” Gaul (Audrey); sisters-in-law, Sister Betty Koressel and Kathy Brendel (John); brothers-in-law, Dave Barnett, Deacon Otto Preske, Andrew Koressel, Jr. (Barbara), and Deacon Charles Koressel (Debbie); numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends and extended family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, L. Edward and Cathryn Gaul; sister, Judith Barnett; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Preske.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 7, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Road, with Father Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
