Jennie E. (Miller) Kelley, age 97, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Jennie was born December 22, 1925, in Wayne City, IL, to Harrison Roscoe and Carrie (Legg) Miller. She graduated from Wayne City High School as Valedictorian in 1942 and earned her Nursing Degree from the nursing school at Welborn Baptist Hospital. Jennie attended Simpson United Methodist Church. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Welborn Baptist Hospital and Indianapolis Public Health.
Jennie is survived by her daughters, Nancy Hawkins (Charles) and Sharon Cywinski (Kenny McDonald); son, Charles M. Tooley (Kathi); 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.
Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Carrie Miller; first husband of 13 years, Charles J. Tooley, who passed away in 1962; second husband of 41 years, Paul Kelley, who passed away 2019; siblings, Clayton Miller, Alma Irwin, and Robert Miller; and grandson, Clayton Richardson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor David Cullison and Pastor Kenny Armitage officiating with Southern Indiana Nursing Honor Guard performing funeral honors. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, February 20, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
