Jesse Odell Storey, age 66, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent of Evansville.
Jesse was born November 25, 1958, in Evansville, to Mack Storey and Freda (Simmons) Storey. He graduated from Central High School in 1977. Jesse married Goldie Cain on July 1, 1977 in Evansville. Jesse was a veteran of the Evansville Fire Department for 30 years; serving on the ambulance, as a fire fighter, and was an Arson K9 Investigator for most of his career. Jesse was a member of the Evansville Fire Department 357 Honor Guard, the West Side Nut Club, a member of FOP Lodge 73, and the IAAI (International Association of Arson Investigation).
Jesse enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending free time cooking on his Big Green Egg, fishing, camping, and vacationing in Mexico.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 48 years, Goldie, his daughters; Stephanie Lightner (Michael) of Evansville, Mandy Storey of Evansville; his grandchildren; Shawn, Alyssa, and Aiden; brothers; Terry Storey, David Reno, and Keith Storey; sisters; Iva Roddy, and Glenda Bump. Jesse is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and several life-long friends.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and Mack Storey Jr., Daniel Storey, Darvin Reno, and his sisters Mildred Schewchuck, Anita “Jane” Storey, and Clydenia Meredith.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Rev. John Lefler officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2025, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Evansville Firefighters 357 Honor Guard, the Santa Clothes Club auction, or the West Side Nut Club.
