Jewell Leibert Cosby, 77, of Evansville, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at McCurdy Healthcare Center.
He retired from Arkla, where he was a welder. He formerly worked at Chrysler Corp. and Servel. He was formerly president of Machinists Union local 1900 district 153.
A World War II Army veteran, he was sergeant with the 1st Infantry Division in Europe and a combat engineer. He received a Bronze and Silver star, and a Victory and Good Conduct medal. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 1114 and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are three daughters, Janie of Evansville, and Mary Kay and Arleen, both of California; a son, Mark of Evansville; a granddaughter, Jennifer Long of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., the Rev. James Sauer officiating, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
