Joan E. (Tameling) Post, age 86, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on April 5, 2026, at Primrose Assisted Living.
Joan was born on June 10, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Nicolas and Elizabeth (Teune) Tameling.
She was a devoted member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served as a deacon and was active in Eastminster Presbyterian Women. Joan was also a member of Newcomers and Oak Meadow Country Club.
Joan had a love for bowling, golf and bridge, and she especially cherished the many years spent golfing alongside her beloved husband, Harold. The two shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Joan, along with her husband, were fans of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Evansville Aces. Joan was a part of University of Evansville Brew Crew. Friday evenings were spent gathered with a large group of friends known as FNCC. Above all, Joan was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into raising and caring for her three children.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Terri Scarlett (John); sons, Mike Post (Stephanie) and Jim Post (Tracy); seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pete and Nick Tameling; sister, Hets Duncan; and grandson, Trevor Scarlett.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Ryan Bradney officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
