Jody John Alverson, age 55, of Evansvile, IN, passed away at 12:19 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital after a long illness.
Jody was born April, 18, 1965, in Waukegan, IL, to Jack and Barbara (Weber) Alverson. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1984 and went on to earn certifications as a welder and an ASCE mechanic. Jody was a member of Gethesmane Church and owned his own lawn care business. He liked to hunt, fish and collect Harley Davidson shirts. Jody spent the last eleven years showing horses with his granddaughter Abby. He was a big guy with just as big of a heart for his family and friends. Jody will be truly missed.
Jody is survived by his daughter, Krystal Chumley (Dusty); son, John Alverson; sister, Chelly Worster (Mark); brothers, Mark Alverson, Scott Alverson and Jeff Alverson (Paula); sidekick & granddaughter, Abby Sauter; seven other grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jody is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
