John Bluford Chivalier, Jr.

John Bluford Chivalier, Jr., age 65, of Evansville, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at home with his family by his side.

John was born February 7, 1959, in Evansville, IN, to John Bluford Chivalier, Sr. and Betty Ann (Roy) Chivalier. He attended Bosse High School and earned his Associate’s Degree in Social Services from Ivy Technical Community College. He loved learning and was working towards his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Indiana. John was a Veteran in the United States Navy where he served as a Medic. John was a member of The Gathering Church where he and his brother enjoyed feeding the homeless community with Pop-up Grill, and he volunteered at the UCS Homeless Shelter. In his younger years, he worked as a CoSA Rep. John loved horses and enjoyed working with Hoof Beats Stables. He also enjoyed making people laugh; he was quite the jokester.

John is survived by his daughters, Jayna Blair and Stephanie Morgan (Todd); sister, Sharon Snodgrass; brothers, Timothy Chivalier and Jerald Chivalier (Tina); grandchildren, Kati, Shay, Jaci, Shaun, Jayla, Kate, Roman, and Will; and great grandchildren, Leslie, Adrian, McKinley, Coarah, and Carter.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Chivalier; sister, Cheryl Lott; and brother, Ronald Chivalier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jason Williams officiating where the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 will render military rites. Burial will be Private in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until service time, Friday, March 15, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
