John David Knight

John David Knight of Evansville, Indiana, walked on from his earthly life at 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 63 years young.

John was born September 9, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN to Hugh Clemisher Knight and Mary Cecelia (Grandbois) Knight. He graduated from Boonville High School in 1976. For the last 15 years he worked for the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Building Authority. He enjoyed reading, writing poetry, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. One of his biggest passions was riding one of his Harleys on a beautiful day. When he wasn’t on his Harley he was with his dog, Cooper. He was a gardening enthusiast and looked forward to sharing his harvest with family and friends. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed helping others. He loved telling jokes just to make people laugh and he never met a stranger. He was a friend to all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the years by those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his son, John K. Knight (Danielle); daughter, Krista A. Knight (Nick); sisters, Brenda Kramer and Nancy Raino; grandchildren, Maxwell, Vincent, Kaden, Michael, and Ledger; several nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mary Knight; brother, Terence Knight who passed away August 7, 2021; sister, Lindy Grandbois; infant brother; twin grandsons, Ethan and Logan Knight; and brother-in-law Dr. William Raino.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
