Jose' Luis Cifuentes Gonzalez

José Luis Cifuentes Gonzalez, age 46, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville, with his family by his side. He remained optimistic throughout his hard-fought battle with cancer.

José was born June 20, 1977, in Chiapas, Mexico, to Marco Antonio Cifuentes Gutierrez. He was of the Presbyterian faith and worked as a factory worker for Vision IV. José enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was fishing, planting flowers, landscaping, or taking care of his chickens. He loved working on cars in his spare time and traveling to the beach. José loved his family, and he especially loved family gatherings.

José is survived by his mother, Briselda Gonzalez Perez; his loving wife of 25 years, Maria Guadalupe Velazquez Mendez; daughters, Sharum Cifuentes (Brolin Summers), Arleth Cifuentes, Karime Cifuentes, and Gabriela Cifuentes; sisters, Yulemi Cifuentes (Blake Niswonger), Auri Cifuentes (Salomon Robero), and Luria Cifuentes (Francisco Velazaquez); brothers, Enrique Cifuentes (Florisol Velazaquez), Antonio Cifuentes (Rosa Gonzalez), and Yorvin Cifuentes (Elizabeth Ramos); granddaughter, Gianina Kay Summers; and family pet, Luca.

José is preceded in death by his father, Marco Antonio Cifuentes, who passed away April 2023.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Saul Roblero Santizo officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Family to help defray final expenses.

José Luis Cifuentes González, de 46 años, de Evansville, IN, falleció el lunes 4 de septiembre de 2023 en el Hospital St Vincent – Evansville, con su familia a su lado. Se mantuvo optimista durante su dura batalla contra el cáncer.

A José le antecede en la muerte su padre, Marco Antonio Cifuentes, quien falleció en abril de 2023.
