Josephine Ann “JoAnn” (Muth) Gerling, age 90, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, December15, 2024.
JoAnn was born January 10, 1934, in Corydon, KY, to Victor C. and Ida Maude (Trusty) Muth. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1952. JoAnn worked for Atlas Van Lines in Human Resources and was a realtor with ERA Real Estate Agency. She was a cancer survivor, a member of Kiwanis, and President of American Baptist Women at her church, American Baptist East (now known as Embrace Church).
JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Beth Ann Evans (Harold) and Rebecca Lee McKenzie (Jon); sons, Jerry L. Gerling, Jr. (Georgetta) and Gregg S. Gerling (Kimberly); brother, Victor Muth (Patricia); sister-in-law, Eleanor Muth; brother –in-law, Jim Pickens; grandchildren, Sarah Beth Warycha (Jeff), Drew Evans, Andy McKenzie (Jaine), Jerry Lee Gerling III, George Gerling, Megan Henson (Matt), Em Evans, Shane Gerling; and many loved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the outstanding and loving care that their mother received from Brickyard in Newburgh along with Heart to Heart Hospice.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Ida Muth; beloved husband of 33 years, Jerry Lee Gerling, Sr.; brother, Thomas Muth; and sisters, Elaine VanBibber Schmitz, Janice Pelikan and Lonna Pickens.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Dennis Hammond and Pastor David Huff officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home.
