Joyce Ann (Mossbarger) Johnson

Joyce Ann (Mossbarger) Johnson, age 86, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at Golden Living Center – Valparaiso.

Joyce was born January 14, 1935, in Evansville, IN to Theodore and Mary Mossbarger. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1953. Joyce worked as a Librarian at Reitz High School for several years before moving to Mt, Vernon, IL where she began working in Human Resources for General Tire, as a Librarian at Dr. Andy Hall Grade School and Librarian at Mt. Vernon Public Library.

She loved traveling with her husband Fred Johnson, sewing, antiquing and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Mortis) Dopp (David); grandchildren, Jennifer (Dopp) Noveroske (Patrick), Jedidiah Dopp, and Jeremiah Dopp; and great grandchildren; Holly Noveroske, Violet Noveroske, Max Noveroske, Lucas Noveroske and Vivienne Noveroske.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Roosevelt Mossbarger and Mary Lucella Mossbarger; husband of 42 years, Fred Johnson, who passed away in 2001; and daughter Holly (Johnson) Prater, who passed away in 1986.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Locust Hill Cemetery and Arboretum, 3800 Kratzville Road, Evansville, IN, with her son-in-law, David Dopp officiating.
