Juanita Fay (Hill) Embry, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville.
Fay was born October 22, 1929, in Center Town, KY, to Thomas Lloyd and Commie Pearl (Pillow) Hill. She attended Central High School, and she attended Vann Avenue Baptist Church and later attended Crossroads Christian Church. Fay owned and operated Embry Rental Properties for 35 years. She was a God-fearing, loving, honest, compassionate person who often put others’ needs before her own. Fay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she was a wonderful homemaker and an amazing cook. She enjoyed both IU and UK basketball, horse races (without betting), and any country music show on TV. She especially loved her family and loved spending time with them. Fay will be loved and missed every second of every day.
Fay is survived by her sons, Mark Embry and Roger Embry (Julie); daughter-in-law, Misty Embry; grandchildren, Greg Embry (Veronica), Jon Embry (Mindi), Ryan Embry (Lucinda), Josh Embry (Mallory), Aaron Embry, Heather Schwindel (Jason) and Carrie Embry (Mark); and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Fay is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Commie Hill; her loving husband of 53 years, Earl “Gene” Embry; sons, Michael Embry and Gary Embry; sisters, Martha Alexander, Patsy Bucelli, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Payne; brothers, Raymond Hill, Robert Williams, and Larry Williams; daughter-in-law, Pamela Embry; and great grandchild, Grace Embry.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
