Julia A. (Hillyard) Sunderman, age 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026.
Julia was born September 23, 1939, in Ft. Branch, IN, to Ralph and Roberta (Belles) Hillyard. She graduated from Ft. Branch High School and Deaconess School of Nursing. She worked at Deaconess for 14 years and then became a school nurse at Harper Elementary School. After she retired, she volunteered at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She became a member of the Auxiliary at Good Sams and was President for 10 years. She had been a member of Terrace Parke Church where she taught Sunday School and was on the decorating committee. She and her husband, Don, became members for the Living Word Christian Church.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Hillyard, Jr. (Linda) of Ft. Branch, IN; daughter, Tracey Tebelman (Mark) of Erlanger, KY; son, Scott Sunderman (Sharon) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Lou Sunderman (Sarah) of London, England, Ben Sunderman of McKinney, TX, Julia Ravichandran (Jagan) of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary Kate Sunderman of Portland, OR, and Savannah Tebelman of Erlanger, KY; great grandchildren, Oliver and Harrison Sunderman of London, England.
Julia was preceded in death by her Christian parents and her loving husband, Don, of 60 years.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tommy Epperson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, June 26, 2026 at the funeral home.
