Karen Lee Doerner Hill

Karen Lee (Doerner) Hill age 76, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Karen was born in Fort Branch, IN, to Wilfred “Gus” and Dorothy (Bauermeister) Doerner. She is a graduate of Fort Branch High School and the University of Evansville, where she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was a longtime member of Newburgh United Methodist Church before moving to California. Upon returning to Indiana, Karen joined the Newburgh Women’s Club and was an avid supporter of the University of Evansville - especially Purple Aces basketball. She was devoted to her family, friends, and community.

Karen is survived by her husband, Christopher Hill; daughters, Kristen Loge Schutte (Michael) and Allyson Loge Weber (Jake); grandchildren, Abigail Schutte Dekarske (John), Logen Weber, Elinor Schutte, Lilly Weber, and Grace Weber; sister, Gretchen Byers (Larry) and brother, Scott Doerner (Margo); as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her loyal dog, Doodles.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 6400 Oak Hill Road with Reverend Emily Slade officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association alz.org in Karen’s memory.
