Kathleen S. Houser died at home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, surrounded by family.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, of 52 years, Dr. William C Houser; daughters, Jennifer Kitchens and Julie Houser; granddaughter, Lindsay Neufer; and grandson, Jake Schnepper. Sisters include Delores June Burns and Chyril Hoke. Kathy is also survived by several nieces and one nephew, many great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Elmo F. Purcell, and mother, D. Corene Purcell, as well as brother, Bobby F. Purcell.
The main highlight of her life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She also dearly loved her family, and especially her husband, Bill. She loved volunteer work and serving God wherever He called her. She and her husband Bill are long time members of Crossroads Christian Church.
Kathy attended IU-PUI and later pursued a degree in Elementary Education at Evansville University.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Crossroads Christian Church in the Chapel at 10800 Lincoln Ave, Newburgh, IN 47630, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, with internment to follow immediately after at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until service time.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shuman and his Oncology staff, Cassie and the staff at the infusion center, Deaconess Palliative Care and Deaconess Hospice.
