Kenneth R. “Kenny” Carneal, age 93, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 9:36 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Golden Living Center - Woodlands of Newburgh.
Kenny was born February 10, 1929, in Beach Creek, KY, to Joseph Carneal and Birchie (Armstrong) Carneal. He graduated from Dunmor High School in Muhlenberg Co. KY and went on to join the United States Navy. Kenny trained and bred thoroughbred race horses for over 50 years. He and his family traveled to race tracks all over Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Kenny loved to play cards with his buddies at the track. He was a huge UK Basketball fan and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Kenny was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed traveling with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Marilyn (Latham) Carneal; son, Steven Carneal (Renee Wedel); granddaughter, Katelan Carneal (Jamison Mitchell); brother, Durel Carneal (Carolyn).
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Birchie Carneal; sisters, Mildred Hughes, Syble Whitman; and brothers, Glen Carneal and Howard Carneal.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, at Park Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum 1526 S Green River Rd, Evansville, IN with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating.
Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until time of service, Friday, May 20, 2022, at Park Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
