Kevin L. Darnell, age 58, of Evansville, IN, passed away, peacefully and surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Park View Care Center in Evansville.
Kevin was born January 8, 1966, in Evansville, IN, to William L. Darnell and Ruby (Duff) Stone. Kevin attended Pentecostal House of Prayer. He worked at Evansville ARC Training Center. Kevin won awards in the 50 yard dash and long jump in the Special Olympics. He loved going to church. Kevin loved Superman, Bert & Ernie, and frogs. He cherished his nieces and nephews. Kevin’s favorite thing to talk about was his family. He will be greatly missed.
Kevin is survived by his step-mother, Linda Darnell; sisters, Billie Cox (Mark) and Kimberly Faulkner; brothers, A. D. McGill (Rhonda), Terry McGill (Chris), Larry McGill (Patty), Jerry McGill, Ross Darnell and Josh Darnell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Homer Stone; and sister, Michelle Stuard.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Brother Kent Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to Rescare Care staff for all they did for Kevin. They were not only caretakers, but also friends. Also a special Thank You to Park View Care Center for their comfort and ease during his final days.
