Kirby C. Gerike, age 63, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital - Evansville.

Kirby was born January 24, 1958, in Souix Falls, SD to Victor Gerike and Lila A. (Bartlett) Gerike. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1976 and then studied Business Management at Indiana State University at Evansville (now USI) and the University of Evansville. Kirby worked in sales at Lensing Wholesale for 18 years and then Utility Pipe Sales, West Tech, and more recently, Tri-State Welding Supply.

Kirby is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marcy B. (Simons) Gerike; daughter, Melissa K. Cozart (Jonathan); son Micah Gerike; sister, Roxanne Heiliger (Mike); brothers, Rev. Henry Gerike, Tim Gerike (Susan) and Paul Gerike (Ruth); brother in -law, Rev. Allen Lunnenberg; grandchildren, Jace and Luke Cozart; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Evansville but frequently attended Christ Church United Church of Christ.

Kirby is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lila; sister, Alice Lunnenberg; and his beloved dog and dear friend, Rudy who never left his side.

Services will be private.

Kirby “Hollywood” Gerike will forever be remembered as one of the areas best softball pitchers!! Our pregame tradition together at Robbys Barge back in the 80’s was always a highlight. A man full of life and fun that will forever be missed. RIP brother! your friend Steve Carlile
