Larry Kemper, age 84, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Waters of Huntingburg.
Larry was born January 16, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana, to Ralph and Carolyn (Noelle) Kemper. He graduated from North High School in 1960. He attended Middle Tennessee State for a time. In August of 1963, Larry married Elizabeth “Betty” Lamb. They had two sons, Mark and Michael. They rooted their family in faith while attending what’s fondly known as the Red Door Church. Larry’s dreams of entrepreneurship grew. They opened the family grocery store that Larry owned, Kemper’s Market.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Kemper; his sons, Mark Kemper (Kris) and Michael Kemper (Linda); his grandchildren, Taylor Farmer (Noah), Allison Kemper, and Breanna Roscoe (Kolbe); his great grandchildren, Clara and Morgan; and his brother, Wayne Kemper.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Carolyn.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Bob Walker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
