Larry Richard Mellen

Larry Mellen, age 80, of Boonville, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Newburgh Health Care, Newburgh, IN.

Larry was born October 22, 1944, in Boonville, IN, to Floyd and Grace (Tennyson) Mellen. He attended Main Street Methodist Church in Boonville with his family, while he was growing up. Larry enjoyed working as a dishwasher for Jerry’s Restaurant for many years and later as a cleaner for Shoe Carnival. Larry had a big heart and loved meeting people, and he loved to read and watch baseball and basketball.

Larry is survived by his sisters, Martha Oldham, Kathy Miller (Joe), and Linda McMurtry; brother, Terry Mellen (Leslie); and several nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Byers; brother, Ronnie Mellen; and brothers-in-law, Shorty Oldham and Tim McMurtry.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN with Rev. Cole Moore officiating.
