Laura Lee (Herold) Brown

Laura Lee (Herold) Brown, age 84, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 6:33 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Heart to Heart Hospice.

Laura was born August 6, 1939, in Cleveland, OH, to Elmer and Ethel (Funk) Herold. She graduated from Willoughby High School in 1957. Laura worked at Welborn Hospital as a physical therapist and receptionist until her retirement. She sang in the Philharmonic Gospel Choir and with the Brown Sisters. Laura’s priorities in life included church, family, work and friends.

Laura is survived by her sons, Jan Barrell and Robert “Bob” Barrell (Lorinda); sister, Darylene Herold; grandchildren, Lindsey Dockery (John), Kristen Synder (Cordell), Brandon Barrell, and Ashton Carter (Dani); and great grandchild, Olivia.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ethel Herold; her husband of 15 years, James Woodford Brown; the father of her children, Jack L. Barrell; and daughter, Diana Barrell.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Amber Cook officiating. Burial will be private.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
