Laura Louise Lewis, 61, of Evansville, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at Welborn Baptist Hospital after a short illness.
She was activities director for 17 years at Holiday Nursing Home in Princeton, Ind., and had worked for Great Scot Supermarkets, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and as pnit secretary for Welborn Baptist Hospital.
She was a member of Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered for youth group programs.
She was a 1953 graduate of Bosse High School and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and knitting.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Cockrum of Plainfield, Ind.; two sons, David and Tracey Lewis, both of Princeton; a sister, Alberta Judd of Evansville; and three grandchildren, Valerie and Eren Cockrum and Justin Lewis.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boone Funeral Home 5330 Washington Ave., the Rev. Michael A. Rynkiewich officiating, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
