Lee Juanell (Cowan) Flener, 84, peacefully slipped away and awoke in the hands of the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Lee was born to Aubrey and Virgie Cowan on January 26, 1936. She graduated from Central High School in 1954, and enjoyed planning and attending her high school reunions. Lee was a secretary for many years, and somehow managed to talk her way into getting summers off to spend with her girls. Lee and Charlie enjoyed their time with special friends traveling to Florida and Kentucky Lake. American pickers, before it became a TV show, she and Charlie enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. Lee was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and opened her home to so many throughout the years, and had a special gift of hospitality that always made everyone around her feel welcome.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of almost 67 years, Charles Flener; daughter, Jan (Gary) Smith; son-in-law, Mark (Lynn) Wilson; grandchildren, Angela (Duke) Wright, Derik (Amy) Smith, and Scott Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Wright, Noah, Caleb, Hannah Smith, Justine Rossiter, and Seth Wilson.
Lee is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Carol Wilson.
