Leona Sue (Linxwiler) Gardner

Leona Sue (Linxwiler) Gardner, age 83, of Evansville, IN, went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2021. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and was a coordinator of the Hands of Mercy/Babushka Ministry at CFC. She was a graduate of Central High School.

Sue retired from Cinergy (Duke Energy) as an accountant in 1996, and later worked part time at Doulos Family Services for more than 12 years. Sue loved traveling abroad and had visited 9 countries, and Reading and tending to her flower garden were two of her favorite things, but most of all she loved being with her family and friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Greta (Goodson) Linxwiler; and husband, Harold Gardner.

Sue is survived by her son Jeff Gardner and his wife, Jodi, of Evansville with their combined family. Sons, Anthony and Andy Gardner and their families all of Ohio. Jessica Gardner of Colorado, Samantha and J.R. Barrow and their son, Briar of Ohio; Nick, Kyle and Alex Maier. Son Mike Gardner and his wife Julie of Evansville and their children Christopher of California and Hannah and Josh Goben of Newburgh. Daughter Cindy (Gardner) Elpers and her husband Lynn of Haubstadt, with their combined family. Matt and Emily Fougnies and their children Garrett, Emerson and Schafer of Owensville. Zachary and Sabrina Fougnies and their daughter Willow and soon to be born Jack of Evansville. Sabrina Fougnies and Cameron and her two sons Josiah and Jarius Fougnies of Princeton. Brant and Evan Elpers of Haubstadt.

Funeral Services will be Private Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor David Neidnagel officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
